Mothers Day Lunch

For Mothers day my gorgeous children bought me some amazing flowers and took me to a restaurant called The Bridge Street Lounge for Sunday lunch.  It was a surprise and my daughter, Faye, had googled ‘best restaurants in Essex’ and this came up. It’s in Writtle, Chelmsford which was just 40 minutes drive away but well worth it.  The venue is tastefully decorated and had a nice ambiance.  The staff were very friendly and attentive and they actually looked like they wanted to be there.

We had a pre dinner drink at the bar and then we were taken to our table, which had been decorated with Mothers day balloons. It was a set menu and I chose the King prawns for the starter and duck breast for main, the waiter checked with the chef and both were gluten free and therefore suitable for me.  My daughter is a vegan and there wasn’t anything on the set menu that was suitable for her, but this wasn’t a problem at all, the chef made her a tomato soup starter and a wild mushroom risotto with pearl barley (not something I could have had but she’s not coeliac) and she said both were delicious.

The food was fantastic, it looked amazing and tasted amazing too – It was well worth the journey.  Thank you my lovelies ♥♥
